StartableStoppableLedgerApiServer

class StartableStoppableLedgerApiServer extends FlagCloseableAsync with NamedLogging

The StartableStoppableLedgerApi enables a canton participant node to start and stop the ledger API server depending on whether the participant node is a High Availability active or passive replica.

    config

    ledger api server configuration

    participantDataSourceConfig

    dbConfig

    the Index DB config

    createExternalServices

A factory to create additional gRPC BindableService-s, which will be bound to the Ledger API gRPC endpoint. All the BindableService-s, which implement java.lang.AutoCloseable, will be also closed upon Ledger API service teardown.

    executionContext

  28. def performUnlessClosing[A](name: String)(f: => A)(implicit traceContext: TraceContext): UnlessShutdown[A]

Performs the task given by f unless a shutdown has been initiated.

Performs the task given by f unless a shutdown has been initiated. The shutdown will only begin after f completes, but other tasks may execute concurrently with f, if started using this function, or one of the other variants (performUnlessClosingF and performUnlessClosingEitherT). The tasks are assumed to take less than closingTimeout to complete.

DO NOT CALL this.close as part of f, because it will result in a deadlock.

    f

    The task to perform

    returns

scala.None$ if a shutdown has been initiated. Otherwise the result of the task.

Performs the EitherT[Future] given by etf unless a shutdown has been initiated, in which case the provided error is returned instead. Both etf and the error are lazy; etf is only evaluated if there is no shutdown, the error only if we're shutting down. The shutdown will only begin after etf completes, but other tasks may execute concurrently with etf, if started using this function, or one of the other variants (performUnlessClosing and performUnlessClosingF). Register a task to run when shutdown is initiated.

Start the ledger API server and remember the resource.

Assumes that ledger api is currently stopped erroring otherwise. If asked to start during shutdown ignores start.

A possible improvement to consider in the future is to abort start upon subsequent call to stop. As is the stop will wait until an inflight start completes.

    overrideIndexerStartupMode

Allows overriding the indexer startup mode. This is useful for forcing a custom startup mode for the first initialization of the participant when it is started as an active replica.
